Slow start and poor finish doom JV Hawks(7-6) on this night.  Despite their erratic play, the bright spot continues to be the never quit attitude of this team, as evidenced by the bottom of the 7th rally to force extra innings.  Down 3, the leadoff man reached on error and was driven home on Jacob Keeney's triple.  An RBI roller scored him and then Alejandro Rodriguez's smash brought home pinch runner Zion Close with the tying run.  This would-be winning run was stranded at second and Yorktown would plate 2 in the 8th--thanks to two walks, a wild pitch, and a soft infield single--to win it.  Keeney, Tanner Murray, and Jack Ryan each contributed 2 hits, while Keeney and Parker Derflinger knocked in 2 runs apiece.  Murray also had a booming triple on the night and delivered the strongest performance on the mound (2 2/3 scoreless innings).  This plus 3 outs on the bases by the Patriots (2 nabbed by Rodriguez and 1 by Kofi Aboagye-Nyame) kept the game close to allow the rally to happen.
