The Hawks played well despite being without injured leader scorer Brandon Winbush.Rayshawn Rigans excelled at the point with 14 pts and 11 assists, and three other players scored in double figures – Reggie Tate (20 pts on 9 for 9 from the field), Chad Canady (17 pts) and Leon Cureton (16 pts). Rigans’ half court shot to end the first half and Tate’s powerful second half dunk against the Generals’ pressure defense were both highlight reel plays in a game where all healthy Hawk players got into the game. Jeff Erskine played important minutes off the bench, including a 3 pointer to stem a W&L rally in the second half.
