Hayfield won its first game of 2012 and its second National District contest, winning at Stuart in a low scoring defensive struggle. Nate McShay led the Hawks with 13 points, while Isaiah Glasby added 8 points and led the rebounding effort with 11. Tyler Seelman (7 points, 3 assists, 5 rebounds) and Grant Williams (4 points, 7 rebounds) also contributed, while Amir Atkins (8 points) and Chris Johnson (4 points) played valuable minutes off of the bench.
