Hayfield dropped the opening “Battle of the Birds” match-up at National District front-runner Edison. Nate McShay had an outstanding game with 18 points and 9 rebounds, but the Hawks were unable on this night to match the pace and physical play of the Eagles over the course of the game. Garrick Short added 8 points and 9 rebounds, Isaiah Glasby contributed 6 points and 6 rebounds, and Tyler Seelman had 5 points and took 2 charges against the aggressive Edison offense.
