Hayfield raised its National District mark to 6-3 and its overall record to 9-8 with a hard-fought road win at Mount Vernon. Nate McShay again led all scorers with 13 points and added 6 rebounds. Garrick Short added 9 points, highlighted by a spectacular left handed tip-in to close the first half, and led the team in rebounds with 11. Isaiah Glasby and Tyler Seelman each contributed 8 points and Glasby also had 3 blocked shots. Amir Atkins (7 points) and Tyler Thornton (6 points) each added significant value off the bench. Thornton and Glasby each had key steals late in the second half to help the Hawks hold off a strong second half comeback attempt by the Majors.
