Headline: Hawks outlast Majors in first National District match-up!

The JV Hawks won their 2nd game of the season, edging the Majors of Mt. Vernon by 2 points, as the Hawks hit 3-4 free throws in the last minute of play. The Hawks came out in the 2nd half, deploying a defensive minded lineup, which produced several of the Hawks 10 steals. This group, led by PG Ralf Bansil (17pts, 6assts, 2stls), raced out on a 14-3 run. The Majors however regrouped when the next Hawks unit entered the game. In the 4th quarter, the game seesawed back and forth, until the Hawks converted clutch free throws (10-13 in the quarter) down the stretch.
Other notable efforts included Tyler Hodge (10pts, 4rebs),
Mike Cobbs (13pts, 4rebs), Kyle Phox (8pts, 2rebs, 3stls) and Corey Hernandez
