Hayfield was off to a fast start, leading 11-4 when Chantilly got rolling. The JV Chargers went on a 10-6 run to close the quarter. The Hawks were stymied in the 2nd quarter, scoring only 5 points. In the 2nd half, Hayfield began to chip away at a Chantilly lead that reached 17 points. Led by an up tempo offense run by Baz Biniam, Hayfield was able to get within 9 points. Unfortunately Hayfield couldn’t convert from the charity stripe, while Chantilly couldn’t miss. Hayfield was led by Brandon Lawson (9 points, 4 assists) and Richmond Williams (9 points, 14 rebounds). Chris Johnson started his first game of the year, hitting from downtown twice (6 points).
