The Hawks climbed back to .500 with a hard fought 42-37 win at Edison HS. This was a total team win. Everyone on the team contributed, either with spirited defense or clutch free throw shooting. The Hawks went to the line 29 times, connecting on 20, including shooting 7-10 down the stretch to seal the win. Key contributions included 18 points from the bench (8-10 from the charity stripe). Reserve guard Darius Poindexter led a 2nd quarter charge when he hit for 8 straight points including 2 three pointers. Xavier Canady came in early in the 2nd quarter, to grab 3 straight steals. Tyler Capps, our 5-9 reserve power forward, played excellent defense at every position we asked him to play, and had 2 key offensive rebounds, along with 2 clutch free throws. Backup guards Teddy Mayo and Quentin Hutchinson came in to provide much needed up tempo in your face defense. The Hawks were again led by starters Brandon Lawson and Richmond Williams, who both scored 9 points.
