The JV Hawks are rolling now, winners of 8 in a row. Tonight’s opponent was W&L, the last team to defeat the Hawks. Hayfield, similar to the last game vs. Washington & Lee, came out slow, going down 9 at the end of one, as W&L hit a 3 pointer, at the buzzer. However, also like last time, the Hawks got going in the 2^nd quarter, outscoring their opponent by 9, to pull even at 28. In the second half, the game seesawed, as both teams went on spurts. The Hawks found themselves down 3 with under 2 minutes, when Chris Johnson hit his 2^nd 3 pointer of the game, to knot the game again at 45. Tyler Thornton hit a key running layup down the stretch, and the Hawks hit just enough free throws to edge the Generals by 2. W&L had a chance to tie, but Chris Johnson deflected the last pass of the game, to throw off their rythem.
