The JV Hawks closed out their 2010-2011 season with a tough road game vs. Raiders of Stuart HS. Unfortunately their season came to an end with a one point loss. The Hawks suited up only 9 players, as 5 players were either injured, or moved up to varsity. The Hawks had a chance to win with under 14 seconds left, but a challenging layup just fell off the rim.
The Hawks were led by Kendrick Mack, who found his shot from beyond the arc, shooting 3-5 en route to 13 pts. The next leading scorers on the Hawks had only 5 a piece (Xavier Canady and Aaron Pratt). The Hawks finished 10-6, 6 more wins than the players had last year on the freshmen squad. Several of the players will try out for the varsity team next year, and 4 of this years’ squad were promoted this season.
