The JV Hawks started their 2011-2012 season with a well balanced team victory, coming back against non-league rival West Springfield. The Hawks utilized a stifling press in the second half, to erase a 6 point deficit, en route to a convincing 10 point win. Tough defense, ball control, and free throws added to the Hawks success. Next up: at Mt. Vernon on Tuesday night.
The Hawks were led by sophomore point guard Phil Guydon (12pts, 4 assts), freshmen Montez Wilson (11pts, 6 rebs) & Dalon Thomas (7pts, 6 rebs), and junior forward Quentin Hutchinson (7pts, 2 steals). Overall 10 players scored.
