The JV Hawks continued their winning ways, starting off the new year with a decisive victory over the JV Raiders of Stuart HS. Employing their full court press from the beginning led to a quick 6-0 lead, which then ballooned into a 17-2 lead midway through quarter en route to their best scoring quarter of the season; 30 points. The JV Hawks never looked back, leading 49-15 at the half, and cruising to a 29 point win.

The JV Hawks were led by sophomores Faris Gebril (14 pts, 3 stls), and Daniel Carter (7 pts, 5 rebs, 4 stls, & 3 assts) along with freshmen Ralf Bansil (7 pts, 2 stls, & 2 assts) and Nicholas Grant (8 pts, 2 stls, 1 asst). Xavier Canady made his first start of the season count by stealing the first two passes of the game, leading to easy fast break buckets for his team. All 16 players participated, with 15 players in the scoring column. Freshman guard Kyle Phox scored the first 2 points of his HS career. Freshman center Montez Wilson had 9 rebounds and a block tonight, while Tyler Stanley was 2-3 from downtown. In all the JV Hawks recorded 22 steals tonight which led to 15 assists.

The JV Hawks next will visit Wakefield HS, on Friday 1/6/12 at 5:45pm
