JV Hawks' Comeback Falls Just Short!
Momentum was not on our side tonight, as the JV Hawks fell for the second time this season to the Jaguars of Falls Church, 51-50. The Hawks were unable to build upon their last second win vs. Yorktown the previous night, falling behind by 11 points in the 1st quarter to the Jaguars, before rallying to close to within 5 by halftime. In the third quarter, the Hawks began to play their game, raising the level of their defensive pressure, which rattled the Jaguars. By the fourth quarter, the Hawks seemed poised to take over the game, and even took a 6 point lead with 3 minutes to play. Unfortunately, it was not to be. The Jaguars stormed back to tie the game with a little over a minute to play, and then sprang past. In the last seconds the Hawks were able to bury a three pointer, but just fell short. The Hawks finished 11-5, equaling the 2009-2010 season and one win better than last season.
