The JV Hawks have continued their streak, of not coming out strongly in the early minutes of their games this season, only to soar back with a vengeance in the second half. Much like nearly all of their games, the JV Hawks were trailing at halftime. Then the pressure was off, and the JV Hawks took to the air, and began to play the game the way they know how. Defense has been stressed to the Hawks throughout this years’ campaign, and in the second half, the JV Hawks began to implement their pressure on the JV Majors, who faltered in their own right. Hayfield limited Mt. Vernon to 5 field goals (19 total points) in the final 16 minutes. Unfortunately, their 38 second half points were not enough to erase the 31 point deficit at halftime.

The JV Hawks welcomed back SF Aaron Jeter (17pts, 10rebs, 2stls), who missed their previous game due to a injured ankle. Joining him in double figures was PF Jeremy Jones (12pts, 13rebs, 3blks, 3stls). Both Jeter and Jones did most of their damage during the furious comeback that fell short. The JV Hawks return to action on Tuesday vs. JEB Stuart HS.
