The Boys JV team played an excellent game in all facets, save two, and those two areas came back to haunt them. Hayfield missed a season high 14 free throws (8-22), and allowed the JV Seahawks of South Lakes HS to gather 14 offensive rebounds. In the end, the effort was evident, but the execution fell just short, as the JV Hawks fell to South Lakes by six, 52-46.

The JV Hawks were paced by junior PF Jeremy Jones (15pts, 7rebs), who kept Hayfield in the game during the open quarter as Jones scored 7 of Hayfield’s 10 first quarter points. Center Corey McGhee (8pts, 6rebs, 2blks) continued his late season surge, including a sweet sweeping hook shot from the left elbow. McGhee add two blocks to his team leading total. PF Will Miles (3pts, 3rebs, 1ast) who always matches up with bigger opponents, chipped in on both ends of the floor, and led the JV Hawks with 3 made free throws (3-4, 75%).
