JV Hawks Fall to the Majors

The JV boys of Hayfield SS had their game with Mt. Vernon slip away from them in the second quarter, on Friday, 12/12/08. The Hawks started out quickly, leading the entire 1st quarter, finishing with an 18-15 lead. Everything unraveled from there. In the 2nd quarter, Mt. Vernon held the JV Hawks to a season low of 2 points. After halftime, the Hawks made a mini-run to get back in the game, climbing to with a few points, but the inside play of the Majors wore down the Hawks, who were playing without two of their big men; Richard Laryea and Jawaan Mosby. In the end, the deficit was to great to over come, as the Majors scored on most of their trips to the free throw line. The Hawks were led by junior guard Davonte Johnson, who scored 12 points, in the loss.

The Hawks next play W.Springfield on Tuesday  night (12/16/08). Please come out and "squawk for our Hawks"!!
