JV Hawks back in the Win column!

The Hayfield Hawks JV boys team evened their record (4-4), last Friday night versus West Potomac. The young Hawks played much better defense, than they had played against Annandale. Hayfield limited W. Potomac to 18 first half points, and only 44 for the game. On offense the Hawks shot just under 50% from the field, en-route to 57 points, which also included 17 points from the charity stripe.

The Hawks were once again led by junior standout, Davonte Johnson, who scored a team (and season) high 25 points! He also added 2 steals, 3 rebounds, 1 block, and 2 assists. 8 other Hawks scored as well, including Grant Williams (freshman forward) who dropped in his first 3 pointer of the season. Brian DiRosario scored his season high (6 points), while AJ Flaviano hit 4 straight free throws, after he was fouled and the opposing coach earned a technical. Elbert Maxwell, injured during the Annandale loss, began to regain his form in the pivotal third quarter, and chipped in 2 lay-ups.

The JV Hawks will host TC Williams on Wednesday, January 21, at 4:30. Please come out and 'squawk for our Hawks"!!
