JV Hawks soar over Atoms!

The JV Hawks finally put together a total game effort, avenging their earlier loss to Annandale. The Hawks held the Atoms to 37 points on Friday night, with stifling defense, which led to easy baskets for the Hawks, whose bench was short, with two key reserves out, and one battling the remnants of a cold. This defensive effort almost equalled the Hawks previous game, where they held their opponent to a season low 31 points.

The Hawks were led by Justin Dreschel, who had a break out game. Justin just missed a triple double with 12 points (6-12 from the floor), 12 rebounds, and 8 steals !!! Asked later why he had so many, he said "they kept passing them right to me". He was joined by Elbert Maxwell, who scored the teams' first 9 points, en-route to 11 for the game. Other key contributers, included: Jeff Erskine (6 points, 4 assists), Grant Williams (10 rebounds), and Davonte Johnson (8 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists).

The JV Hawks will try to make it 3 straight, when they travel to West Potomac, on Tuesday February 10 at 5:45pm. Please soar with us, and "squawk for your hawks"!!
