JV Hawks stifle West Potomac!

The Hayfield Hawks JV boys basketball team overcame a horrendous first half, which saw them only score 13 points, to rout the JV team at West Potomac. Both teams had a very difficult time scoring in the first half, but for drastically different reasons. Hayfield couldn't sink a shot, while West Potomac had trouble taking shots. Hayfield started applying their stifling defense early in the game, and continued that effort throughout, holding West Potomac to 23 points for the entire game.

The Hawks were led by leading scorer, Davonte Johnson, who scored all of his game high 14 points in the third quarter. The Hawks outscored W.Potomac by 17 points in that quarter. Jeff Erskine had a solid game, scoring 7 points, handing out 6 assists, and grabbing 5 steals. Justin Dreschel followed up his break out game, with a great defensive effort, tallying 5 blocks.

The final game of the season will be at TC Williams, on Friday night. If the Hawks prevail, it will be their fourth straight win. Please come out and "squawk for your hawks"!
