WAKEFIELD FRESHMEN TRIP UP FRESHMEN HAWKS, 47-43

The 9th Grade Boys Basketball team returned from the holiday season a little flat, on Friday afternoon, slipping to 4-2 on the season with a 4 point loss to the 9th grade Wakefield Warriors. The Hawks deployed a new starting line-up  to begin the new year, and at first it seemed to be just what the doctor ordered, as F Ahlyzia Joannides (6pts, 2rebs, 1asst) flushed his first three pointer of the season. Unfortunately, that was just one of the few bright spots on the afternoon. The Hawks could not find their rhythm, missing 12 three point tries, and missing 43 field goal attempts overall. There was another bright spot though. F/C Aaron Jeter (14pts, 17rebs, 3stls, 1blk) was all over the place on the boards, including 5 offensive rebounds which led to many easy put backs. In the end though, the lack of offensive cohesiveness, along with 5 missed free throws, doomed the young Hawks.
