GENERALS BIG THIRD QUARTER SINKS HAWKS

The Hawks Freshmen boys dropped another district game yesterday (falling to .500 in the standings) to the Generals of W&L HS. The game was a seesaw affair all throughout the first half, with the Hawks leading by 2 at the break. It was all Generals in the third however, as W&L’s freshmen boys team dropped 22 on the Hawks. The Hawks attempted to mount a rally in the fourth, as SG Elijah Villacorte (16pts, 2stls) scored seven of his team high 16 in the fourth quarter, but the lead was too great to overcome.

Other Hawks that contributed were: C Corey McGhee (10pts, 2blks), had one monster rejection of a shot that sailed into the stands. PG Xavier Gingras (8pts, 4rebs, 3asts, 2stls, 2blks) was perfect from the field, hitting all 4 of his shots, and played exceptional defense. PF Pierce Pratt (9pts, 7rebs, 1blk) had a great first half of scoring, and then rebounded well in the second. C Atta Gyebi (2pts, 2rebs) came off the bench to play great defense, and hit both of his free throws. Reserve guard Kyle McManus brought his “A” game defensively (as usual), swiping 2 steals, and outleaping the taller Generals for a couple offensive rebounds.
