FINAL EFFORTS JUST MISS; HAWKS FALL TO WARRIORS BY 3

The Fresh Hawks, despite struggling to score most of the game, had a chance to win at the end of regulation. The Hawks, on the wings of a 16 point third quarter effort (10 pts by Romaine Oakley), had two chances to draw even with under 7 seconds to play. Each time, they had to do it with defense, and each time the defense came up with the ball. Unfortunately, the shots resulting from both steals were long range bombs, which fell just short, as the young Hawks fell to 5-6 in the National District.

The Hawks were led by starting SF Romaine Oakley (13pts, 5rebs, 1blk). Oakley often had to shoot twisting inside shots, just to find an opening to score. He was the only Hawk to reach double figures, although SG Elijah Villacorte (9pts, 1ast, 1stl) came close, hitting 4-11 from the field. F Zach Wenger (2pts, 6rebs, 4stls) had a very balanced game defensively, hitting the boards and playing great open floor defense. C Corey McGhee (5pts, 8rebs, 3stls, 1blk) started his fourth straight game, contributed in all facets of the game.
