WEST SPRINGFIELD HS: 6
Shorthanded BOYS VARSITY TENNIS valiant in defeat, losing 6-3 to West Springfield in a match played at Wakefield Park. Senior Jimmie Linza had an exciting singles match, coming from behind to win 11-9 in front of a gathered crowd of close to 50 people. Also winning in spectacular fashion was the doubles team of junior Liam Coghlan and sophomore Joon Kim who--tied 8-8 and down 5-1 in the tiebreaker--rallied to win 8-6. Junior Robert Neff and senior Ethan Hawn were the other winners for the Hawks, scoring a dominant 8-2 doubles win.
