13 Hayfield Wrestlers traveled down to Hopewell HS, outside of Richmond for the Hopewell Classic. 16 teams from throughout the state competed in this event, including 18x AAA State Champions Great Bridge, 6x AAA State Champions Cox, VA private school State champions St. Christopher's, and several other top teams in VA. Hayfield placed 9th with 6 medalists. Junior Vernon Hadley finished 2nd at 170 lbs. Senior Jacob Dalton placed 3rd at 195 lbs. Junior Matt Allan placed 4th at 160 lbs. Juniors Mark Allan and Stephen Sudik placed 5th at 152 and 145 lbs respectively. In addition, froshman Anthony Agee also placed 5th at 182 lbs. The Hawks are next in action Dec 7/8 at the Beef O'Brady Invitational in Fort Mill, SC.
