The Hawks traveled to Osbourne Park HS in Manassas VA to compete in the Battle of Manassas.  This tournament consisted of 8 teams.  Each wrestler was placed in a 4 man pool.  The winner of each pool wrestled his counterpart from the other pool for first place.  The second place finisher in each pool wrestled for 3rd, with the 3rd place finisher in each pool wrestling for 5th, and 4th for 6th.  Hayfield had two champions:  Matt Guillory at 132 lbs, and Antonio Agee at 182 lbs.  Matt Pitts and Mikey Baldinger placed 2nd at 106 lbs and 152 lbs respectively.  Freshman Mikey Baldinger, Junior Xavery Washington, and Sophomore Matt Leichty placed 3rd at 113 lbs, 152, and 195 lbs respectively.  The hawks were without the services of Grant Saunders, Greer Jones, and Brendan McCarron, who had SAT's and All District Band competitions.  The Hawks placed 5th in this event.
