Cynthia Haataja

CoEd Varsity Swim & Dive
Coach Cindy Haataja has a long history of swimming and diving. She began her career when she moved to VA in the first grade! She began by swimming in the NVSL for the Holmes Run Acres Sea Urchins and quickly took to diving, as well. She attended Falls Church HS where she was a swimmer and a diver. She dove as a walk-on at Virginia Tech as a sophomore and competed with the VT gymnastics club for 4 years. She coached not only for Holmes Run but also for Donaldson Run and more recently for Springfield Swim and Racquet Club in the NVSL. While in AZ she coached YMCA swimming and in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula she coached 2 years at Michigan Tech for dive and many years as a High School Swim and Dive Head Coach. This is her 3rd year at Hayfield and she looks forward to another exciting season with the Hawks!
