Welcome Hawks Swim & Dive !!

Good Afternoon Hawks Swim & Dive families!

As we approach the start of winter sports I wanted to take the time and share some information about our season. I'm excited to announce that we will be operating as the normal season with some covid precautions. Id also like to welcome back our amazing coaching staff! Coach Stalling will be coming back for her second swim season with Hayfield swim & dive and Coach Haataja will be returning for her fourth season as our dive coach.

Id first like to talk about Student- Athlete Vaccine Requiremnets. Students who are 16 years of age or older (age as of November 8 for the Winter season) and want to participate in athletics will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have either a medical or religious exemption. Unvaccinated students who are 12-15 years of age must provide a weekly negative COVID-19 test to be eligible to participate in team activities. Starting October 4, 2021, student-athletes can submit their proof of Covid-19 vaccination to their school. Hayfield Students will need to provide proof of their vaccination card to the Student Activities Office, Mrs. McCallum or Ms. Culbertson.  Clear documentation via an electronic format of the vaccination card or photocopy to the authorized school personnel. Vaccination Documentation should be emailed to HawksAthletics@fcps.edu If you have any questions please call (703) 924-7579. I have attached the document to this email for further information about religious and medical exemptions.

Students who will be swimming or diving for the first time this season please make sure that all of your athletic forms are completed. If you need to check whether you have completed all required forms, you can visit hawksathletics.org and click on winter - swim & dive - CoEd Varsity (20-21) -- click on the More tab and you will see mandatory forms. If you have questions please feel free to reach out to me or the athletic office.

Tryouts:

This year we will hold tryouts on Monday, November 8th - Wednesday, November 10th. We will treat this as a time trial. All athletes must swim the following events.  I encourage if you feel like this would be a challenge for you to start finding some time and getting into the water.

50-yard free

100-yard free

50-yard backstroke

100-yard choice
