In Excellent Defensive Effort; Hawks Fall to Wolverines 11-4

Boys Varsity played one of their best defensive games in a long time, holding the vaunted Wolverines of West Potomac to 11 goals on 36 shots. Sr. Goalie Jake Fischer had another great game in net for the Hawks, turning away 14 shots on his own. He was aided in his effort by his close defense, led by Senior Captains Omar Diallo (4 ground balls, 3 clears), and Kody Venable (4 clears). The Hawks collective defense stifled the Wolverines from the outset, limiting West Potomac to 2 goals in the first 12 minutes, and to only 1 goal in the last 12 minutes, while the Hawks offense finally got rolling, tallying 3 goals in the final quarter.
