Hawks Play Saturday AM at Mt. Vernon, Defeat Archrival Majors 14-5!!
The Varsity Hawks, led by a well-balanced attack, defeated their cross-town rivals, the Majors of Mt. Vernon in a hard hitting and well-played game. For the first time this season, the Hawks achieved most of their goals off well timed passes, achieving 10 assists on 14 goals! The Hawks were paced by Fr. Attack Jack Nugent who amassed a career high 6 points (3 goals, and 3 assists), Fr. FOSO (face off stay on) Midfielder Joe Weinburgh (3 goals, 1 assist, 12 GB’s (groundballs), who also dominated the faceoff circle, winning 85% (17/20) of his draws, and Jr. Attack Connor Murphy (3 goals, 1 assist, 4 GB’s). Other notable contributions: Jr. Captain Aiden Freeland saved 19 shots, and his back up Rafael Tamez, playing in his first varsity game, saved 3 out 4 shots on him. Sr. Captain Thorsten Muehlbauer (1 goal, 2 assists), Sr. Joey Page (1 goal), Fr. Kyle Marshall (1 goal, 1 assist), and So. Luke Jette (2 goals, 1 assist) rounded out the scoring.
