Hayfield Out-Muscles Fairfax HS, Yet Loses to Lions 13-6

  The Varsity Hawks found something extra in the middle of the 2^nd quarter vs. the Lions of Fairfax HS. Even though they were not able to overcome the deficit they put themselves in, the Hawks played with pride, and grit, and gave maximum effort in the loss. Great individual defensive plays by Sr. Joey Page, and Jr. Connor Murphy galvanized the Hawks, to not let the vaunted Lions run away with the game. Of the 36 shots on cage, Sr. Captain Aiden Freeland (21 saves) turned back a majority of them, always keeping the Hawks hopes alive.

  Hayfield was paced by Fr. sensation Joseph Weinburgh (4 goals, 2 assists, 7 gb’s), who had his 3^rd hat trick of the season, and won 54% of his faceoffs. Other contributors included Sr. Captain Thorsten Muehlbauer (1 goal, 12 gb’s), and So. Luke Jette (1 goal)
