On Hayfield’s 2009 Senior Night, 1B Laura Kirik went 2-3 and drove in both runs in a rain-shortened victory over Lake Braddock. Jennifer Windau struck out 9 to match the Hayfield season record for wins at 16. LF Jessica Reynolds reached base three times with two hits and a walk. Windau was backed up by some great Hawks defense including a spectacular running grab in center by Christine Kurucz, a double play started by 3B Kelly Sheaff, and a bullseye throwdown by catcher Sam Perry-Shifflett to nail a speedy Bruin player trying to steal second. The Hawks' (16-3, 12-2 Patriot) next game will be a home first round matchup in the Patriot District playoffs on Wednesday.
