Hayfield Edges Annandale 3-2 in NoVa Spring Break Tourney
The Hawks earned a thrilling win as sophomore pitcher Amber Fowler went 3 for 4, scored two runs and drove in another. Megan Perry-Shifflett had two hits and delivered the final blow in the bottom of the 7th with a blistering shot up the middle that went all the way to the fence, allowing Fowler to score from first. In the circle, Fowler held the Atoms scoreless until the top of the 7th, and struck out eight to earn the victory.
The Hawks (1-1) are scheduled to face the Bishop Ireton Cardinals on Monday at 6:00pm as the Spring Break Tournament continues.
