Hawks Pound Warriors 19-1; Showdown with Yorktown Looms

Megan Perry-Shifflett hit her third home run of the season as the Hayfield Hawks cruised to victory and extended their winning streak to eight games. Amber Fowler went 4 for 5 on the night and drove in five runs, and freshman 1B Katelyn Thorne had her best night of the year with three hits including a double and three RBI's. The Hawks were also aggressive on the basepaths, paced by leadoff hitter Hannah Williams' six stolen bases in the game.

Amber Fowler and Taylor Neuhart split time in the circle, combined on a no-hitter, and notched a combined 9 strikeouts with Fowler earning the victory.

Hayfield (8-1, 5-0) will next host the three-time defending National District champion Yorktown Patriots at 6pm on Wednesday, April 14th.
