Robinson's lead off batter, Briana Banks, had a base hit to short left field.  She was caught in a rundown trying to steal second base when catcher Sam Perry-Shifflett's throw was well ahead of the speedy Banks.  Sam's sister, Megan (shortstop) then threw to first basewoman Taytor Neuhartt for the tag.  In the second inning, Robinson had two runners on base with no outs, however, pitcher Amber Fowler forced Jilian Powers to pop out to Neuhart  The next batter, Kelsey Rooney bounced back to Fowler who threw to first for the out and Kacie Townsend popped out to third basewoman Brittany Creamer for the third out.   In the third inning, Banks drew a walk and scored on a long single to deep left centerfield by Allie Newcomb.  For the game, Fowler picked up the win while giving up three hits, 2 walks and strikikng out 4.  Closer Neuhart struck out 6, walked one and gave up 2 hits in 3 innings.  In the second inning, left fielder Angela Sudik with two strikes on her singled in the Hawks's first two runs scoring pinch-runner Summer Smith and Jessica Reynolds.  Brittany Creamer drove in another on an error at third base.  Fowler singled in a run as did Megan Perry-Shifflett.  Neuhart closed out the Hawks offense with a single.  The game was delayed shortly after the second inning started due to rain and lighting for 1 1/2 hours.   The Hawks travel to Falls Church on Memorial Day to meet the defending State Champion Mclean Highlanders at 6PM in the Northern Region Quarterfinals.
