MOUNT VERNON HIGH: 0
Taylor Neuhart pitched her sixth no-hitter and struck out 8 in the 2-0 win over Mount Vernon. Amber Fowler who had previously received two intentional walks led off the 6th inning with a double in the gap to left center field. Amber advanced to third base on Summer Scott's sacrifice bunt and scored the winning run on a wild pitch/passed ball. Summer Smith drove in the insurance run scoring Brittani Garza who finished the night with two singles and a stolen base. Caroline Ramos, Taylor and Amber also singled. The Hawks unloaded some baggage from last year's stinging loss to Mount Vernon (2-1) that knocked them out of the championship game. The win sets up a show down with the number one seed Yorktown and the number two seed Hayfield. The teams split during the regular season.
