Freshman Olivia Frego, Kaylee Shull, Tiffany Posey, Emma Amacher and junior Melany Umana made their Hayfield softball debuts in an 8 to 4 win over Oakton HS Friday night. Posey had a strong showing in the circle, throwing a complete game with 7 strikeouts and only allowing 6 hits and 4 walks. The Hawks offense came to life with a 7 run 4th inning capped off by extra base hits by seniors Avery Neuhart (triple-2RBI) and Grace Wilsey (double-RBI). Shull (single-RBI), Sarah Wilsey (single-RBI), Posey (2 singles-RBI), Umana (single) and Julia Napier (single-RBI) all gathered hits in the game. Umana picked up her first stolen base of the season and Sarah Wilsey threw out her first base stealer from behind the plate. Every Hawk in the dugout contributed to the first win of the season!
